Spatial Polyphony and Antiphony
Thursday, February 5, 2026 | 6:00 PM
Moss Gallery
Step into a world where sound and space converge in perfect harmony. "Echoes of Reflection" transforms the Moss Gallery into a living instrument, where the polyphonic voices of brass ensemble create musical mirrors that dance through our galleries. Join our fabulous Horizon Chamber Collective Brass Quintet.
The Experience
In this immersive concert, our brass quintet will perform throughout multiple museum spaces, allowing the architecture itself to become part of the musical conversation. As melodies weave between trumpet, horn, trombone, and tuba, listeners will experience how Renaissance masters like Giovanni Gabrieli used antiphonal techniques—musical conversations that bounce between different groups of instruments, creating layers of sound that reflect and respond to one another.
Visual Connections
Throughout the evening, discover how the mathematical precision of polyphonic composition mirrors the golden ratios found in classical architecture and Renaissance art.
Duration: Approximately 60 minutes with intermission
